SPRING (March 11, 2004)

seven years ago today,
four commuter trains, left filled with thousands of flowers,
to repopulate the Spring Capital.

All the other seats were occupied by roses and carnations.

Roses and carnations, purple, pink, yellow and white.

Roses and carnations in all varieties and sizes.

Roses and carnations were in some cases were only tea roses and carnations tiny.

Roses and carnations in the making, who were not even born yet, and moved its petals in the womb, the largest roses, which only wanted to give birth to their beautiful blossoms.

Roses and carnations, in which living thought the other small flowers that never would grow, small florets, which, in turn, would never again see his parents.

roses and carnations young, with their backpacks full of books that went to study at college or university, and who, minutes earlier, his mother had prepared, unknowingly his last breakfast.

as roses and carnations which had been up early every day to earn their bread with which to support his family.

Roses and carnations a day across the pond in search of opportunities in Spain.

suddenly and with very short intervals between each other, four enormous explosions sounded, when she was barely dawn, and the sky was filled with smoke and bloody petals.

Soon after, a mass of iron and flowers were scattered and inert in several areas of the city.

Her scent filled the air of Madrid .

breathes a strange mixture of flower essence and blood!

Something catastrophic had happened!

looked like a horror movie, but once again the stark reality is stranger than fiction:

The English Spring we had run out, because about 200 roses and carnations @ s had been destroyed forever, in Madrid, because of some damn they had decided to uproot the petals hanging from its fresh green stems.

And others, 2000 beautiful flowers were terribly injured, on the outside, but especially in his soul.
Then came the sirens, the confusion, the sobbing, searching the faces of the relatives gather blackness, transfers to the makeshift mortuary set up in the Pavilion Ifema of corpses, the movement of ambulances carrying the thousands of injured to hospitals in the province ... all with the help of hundreds of volunteers and the deployment of all emergency public services.

Everyone did what they could, but the terror I had achieved what he wanted: he had reaped hundreds of innocent lives.

I put this picture from the Internet, these flowers as a symbol of those people that we all carry in our hearts, because they want to show those images again gruesome, horrible they do not just look at hurt.

Al next day the English evening filled the streets of Spain.

More than eleven million people express our pain.

Madrid arteries were filled, despite the rain.

We were all there, because our most valuable crop had been destroyed, for our roses, carnations and our never had a chance to escape hell and our hearts were broken as well as their petals.

Two million umbrellas are cherished in silence, tears of the audience mingled with the drops of water.

Two million took to the streets of Madrid on March 12, 2004

Still could not believe that our roses and carnations had been killed, our roses, carnations our ...!

And like a litany was whispered all without being aware of our whispers:

Do not come to strangers Rose, because you will not find flowers on it ...
not enter, tourists, the botanical gardens for all species have their foliage and blossoms bowed in mourning ...

our gardens do not visit it for a long time, because the spring in Madrid and throughout Spain will soon re-emerge ...

was as if instead of being a Mediterranean country, our weather had suddenly become continental and cold, because that was what we felt all: COLD in our hearts and in our bones.

We only his head was burning pain and stinging us up for the temperature and intensity of our tears.

Everything else was cold, freezing cold ...
